February 4, 2006 - Lovers Key S.P., FL

Someone once said that the only constant was change.  And we're thinking about making some changes.  We sold our house in 1998 and haven't looked back.  We're glad we made that decision, and we love the full time lifestyle.  Having said that, we've become increasingly aware of several things:  (1)  We've gotten 8 years older since then, (2) the price of houses hasn't gone down any since then, (3) and if we wait until we "need" a house we well may not be able to afford one.

So, we think we'll sell the Road Abode and buy a house.  If it were to happen today, we'd buy a smaller less expensive RV and then probably buy a home in The Villages, located in north central Florida and put it in the rental pool until we "need" it.  We'd be able to store some things we've been packing around with us, as well at the things we have stored in a locker in WA.  It would give us a safety net in case we needed to land someplace suddenly and stay put for a while without having any stairs to contend with.  The Villages is unique in the country in that everything we need is right there.  It truly is a golf cart community.  Full service hospital and all.

Well, there you have it.  We're open to comments, suggestions or what have you here.

Oh, and in case you want to see what the Road Abode looks like all slicked up, you can start here.
