I'm just going to post the pictures here that Barb and I put into an Album and gave to Ken and Nan on Sunday the 14th. We took something over 100 pictures, only 54 were "keepers". Where I can, I'll include names. Relationships are more important to me than names and for some reason I don't understand, I can remember who people belong to better than names. Gee, I wonder why.....

Festivities started on Friday evening at a no-host dinner at a local Mexican restaurant. About 40 people in all, most of whom we didn't know, but some we did. Then on Saturday from noon to two, there was a reception for Jason and Becky, and the announcement you got tells of their quick wedding. Amelia holding one of the 2 1/2-month old identical twins born to Julia and Jayesh, Kathy's daughter & son-in-law. One twin has a small dimple in her ear, other than that distinction (and the ever-worn leg band) even the mother can't tell them apart.

Dave & Barb Holman, Nancy's younger brother. About 3 years older than me, and as kids we enjoyed the time we had together. Often doing things parents didn't approve of. And then just "people" at the reception. Had cheese/ham snack thingies, soft drinks, nuts & stuff like that to nibble on.

Ken with the bolo tie our mom gave me and I gave to Ken since I don't wear ties anymore, and Nan with a squash blossom that Ken had made for her (by a jeweler) some time ago, and then Maury and Linda singing.

Becky, Maury & Linda's daughter and her husband Jason "doing their thing." The gal who caught the bouquet is Becky's little sister Tanya, and the garter catcher was the only guy eligible, and it happened quicker than my camera could process. He's David, a son of Kathy, Ken and Nan's daughter. Becky and Jason are cops in the Air Force, stationed at Las Vegas.

A couple of Kathy's daughters lip-syncing (Kendra on the right Katie on the left) and then it was Ken and Nancy's party time.
Ken and Nancy had their original bridesmaid and best man with them--Nancy's sister and Dave Clay, Ken's best friend from San Luis Obispo. They re-did their ceremony with lots of humor. The pastor is a local guy that fishes with Ken. At the appropriate place in the ceremony, the pastor asked for the ring, and there was a fuss as they pretended to have forgotten it, and then David (the grandson) came in with this pillow and a little ring box on it, totally surprising Nancy -- which was the whole plan.
Sort of an emotional time for all, both Ken and Nan with happy tears, and many in the crowd of close to 100 joining in.

Kathy & Maury on stage with a tribute song, Kathy's son David holding music for her husband Mark. Then Kathy's kids & their spouses did a song, and then finally some "real" musicians. They were good, and would have had dancers if it hadn't been so hot (around 100 degrees) and crowded (no air-conditioning). And of course, my older brother smoozing the ladies.

Just a few outside "crowd shots." The couple standing are Dave Clay and his wife, and the little guy sitting on the table with a blue shirt next to his dad with the yellow shirt, is lucky to be alive. Couple of years ago a Cougar had him by the head and was hauling him off into the woods when his 6-foot-plus Aunt came running out of the house screaming and scared it off.. After the trauma and 77 stitches, the little guy said, "...that cat was gonna eat me!" Very little evidence except for some small scars around the right temple. Neat family. And then the "real" food. Nobody went home hungry unless they wanted to.

Ken with a napkin on his head that some passerby had plopped there--it probably had ice water on it, them cutting their cake, and then posing with a family tree quilt made by Polly, one of Kathy's girls. Beautiful work.
That's Polly with a couple of kids on her lap, the youngest is one of her sister's twins, and I don't know who the other kid belongs to. The caterers who did an outstanding job, some crowd shots, Ken on the gut-bucket in the band, and the cousins. The group shot is of all the family that was there, and then the sign on the motel. Good time had by all.
