Well, well, well. Memorial Day. And what a memorial day it was. After poking around a bit in Auburn taking care of some stuff, we couldn't figure out why we shouldn't start this grand adventure, so we left.

No, this isn't what we left. This is getting ready for one of the many garage sales we had before we left. But it's the only picture I can find at the moment of our place in Auburn, WA. Barby's in the carport with the trailer to the right, and the stairs to the porch peeking out a little.
We landed in the Columbia River Gorge RV Resort in Mosier, OR, for the night. What a beautiful place to stay! The rig gets incredibly dirty getting there because of the last few miles of gravel/dirt road, but believe us, it's worth it.

This is the view from one of our favorite campsites.

And here are a couple of the neighbors. We counted a total of 6 does and a buck with velvet right across the street from our campsite.

If you squint, you can see Mt. Somethingorother in the background, and the truck in front of the trailer. I'm standing about where the neighbors in the last picture were standing.

Now, I'm not sure what this neighbor had in mind, but he was quite enamored with this bumper. He'd been at it for about 1/2 hour according to another photographer when we got there. He'd peck at his reflection, walk around the truck, preen a bit and look at himself, and then do it all over again. We watched for another 1/2 hour before we got too cold and had to head back "home" again. The next morning while walking around, Barby saw 4 female birds doing essentially the same thing. The guy who owned the truck thought it was pretty funny, and didn't seem to mind them taking up "his" space, either.
This particular park has a hot tub, swimming pool, miniature golf, a small 3 par golf course, neat clubhouse, clean restrooms, and steak/chicken dinners on the weekends for $5. Well worth stopping, even if all the above is a bit rustic. Well, the spa and pool are in perfect condition, the golf facilities leave a little to be desired. Like the greens.

For example, this is the 3rd fairway. The greens are a little hard to differentiate from the fairways, and the rough is really rough. But you sure can't beat the view! We listened to the song dogs at night, and were awakened by the birds. What a way to live.
