Happy Memorial Day weekend. And our thanks to the others who've served our country like my brothers and I did, and a special prayer to those currently serving. Particularly those families who have lost a loved one defending our freedom. Our prayer is that your loss is someday rewarded.
In preparation for a full day of the Indy 500, and the NASCAR Coca Cola 600 tomorrow, I'm resting up today. And fussing with the website. Added Barb's Mailboxes to the site today. There's a listing on the home page of course, but it kind of blends in. I'm going to mention it again in the future, particularly if we add to the collection.
Also, if you're a history buff, you may enjoy reading some of my dad's mother's notes. Apparently at some time in the past somebody in the family asked her to write down a brief history of her life. I ended up with the two little notebooks in her handwriting. She was born in 1865, and I have no idea when she wrote these notes. They can be found at Grandmother Jenkins' Notes
Another thing I'm doing is putting together a list of everybody who'd like a notification of any updates. I'm pretty sporadic about updating, and some readers have asked me to tell them when I've done an update so they don't have to keep checking to see if one has been done. If you'd like your name on that list (and believe me, it's not going any further than my e-mail address book) I'll be happy to add it. Just drop me a note at daveandbarbj at etcetera4 dot net. And you know the game, replace the "at" with a "@" and the "dot" with a ".".
Hope you and yours have a safe holiday, and that you thank a veteran for what they've done for you.
