I just found this picture, and the date on the camera is messed up, and I haven't a clue where we were. But the important thing is, Langlois is Barb's maiden name. I think we were in California. Any hints?
On our way to Folsom, CA, we stopped at the Wal-Mart in Redding for the night. Gave Mark and Val Eaton a call. They were students in one of the Crown classes we taught in Federal Way early this year.

And after a great dinner with them and son AJ, we got to meet one of their several lizard type pets. Fun couple, and we look forward to hearing from them from time to time. Mark is in Seminary there, and we think he'll make a great Pastor someday.

Next stop, Chico, CA, for son Rick's wedding. On the left we have the groom in the middle, his biological dad on the left, and his step dad on the right. That's me on the left. And then the happy couple during rehearsal. I'm not sure, but I think most the fun was had at the rehearsal.

And of course, there's the "family" stuff that always happily happens at weddings. Left to right, son Doug, son Rick, and best man Todd. And then Doug and his family. Nice thing about an outside wedding is the photo ops that occur. I shot about 75 pictures between the rehearsal and the wedding itself.

Son Doug's youngest, 9 yr old Holly, is the violinist for the wedding. She'd been told that she wasn't to expect rapt attention like she's used to getting at recitals and such, but to just keep playing even if people do talk. She was OK with that. But once she began to play, all conversation came to a halt and after each of the two pieces she played she got a round of applause that was more than just polite. These people actually appreciated classical violin music.... particularly from a 9 yr old with a 1/2 size violin! Of course, she got to do the wedding march and a piece after the wedding. And her Grampa Dave is only a little proud. Her older sister Robin is an accomplished pianist, but outdoor weddings don't make for a good venue for piano. Oh, Holly was just accepted into one of St. Louis' Youth Symphony's. The next youngest kid in the orchestra is in the 8th grade. Grin.

And speaking of grins, here's a couple more for you. We love Lynn and her smile so much! And she smiles most the time.

And a good time was had by all. I didn't include the shots of the granddaughters dancing together, and blowing bubbles all over the place, and about 60 other great pictures. But you get the idea, I'm sure. Rick and Lynn went to Cancun for their honeymoon, and once they got there they canceled the tours they'd planned, and just got caught up on some badly needed rest. A lot of work had gone into the wedding and they'd pretty much been on their own for most of it. Rick's mom who lives in Chico was able to help a bit, and they were appreciative of it.
