The brochure boldly states: "WANTED  Born Again Christians who love to serve...."  The name is an acronym for Servants On Wheels Ever Ready, and quotes the 6th chapter of Galatians, verse 7, where Paul is telling the Christians, "Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap."

And quoting the brochure again:  "This volunteer ministry began as the Founders, Frank and Kathy Varga, traveled the highways and byways of the U.S.A. and assisted fellow travelers in trouble.  When traveling and serving with other organizations, Frank and Kathy sensed a need for a distinctive group, older Christian RV'ers.  This group, SOWERS, would provide talents and services needed by many Christian ministries.  This led to the incorporation of "Servants On Wheels Ever Ready" on August 10, 1984, as a non-profit ministry governed by a Board of Trustees.

WHO ARE SOWERS?

"SOWERS are self-supported, retired or semi-retired volunteers who delight in serving the Lord.  While working on selected projects at various Christian ministries, they use their skills . . . .   At the same time, they enjoy travel in their own motorhome or trailer.  Some are professionals in their field.  Some are just  handy-persons.

WHAT TIME IS INVOLVED?

"SOWERS work 3 weeks a month, 4 days a week and 6 hours a day.  This is usually done the first 3 weeks of the month, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.  SOWERS are encouraged to stay at least 1 month (3 week work month), 72 hours.  A few are needed longer.

DO BOTH HUSBAND AND WIFE WORK?

"In the SOWER ministry only the husband is expected to work.  Should the wife choose to work, she is encouraged to limit her work to 3 hours a day.  A single person is expected to work 6 hours a day.

WHAT DOES IT COST TO JOIN?

"SOWERS is a volunteer, non-profit ministry, relying on Faith contributors.  All such contributions are used to defray office expenses and mailings.

WHERE ARE THE SOWER PROJECTS?

"Projects are scheduled throughout the year, in the U.S., Mexico, and Canada.

CAN WE CHOOSE WHERE TO SERVE?

"Yes.  Each month a project list is mailed to members and  projects are filled on a "first come, first served" basis.

WHAT IS THE CHARGE FOR CAMPING AND HOOK-UPS?

"The project hosts provide a place to park, water & electricity, and sewer (if available) at no charge.
